I have to admit to geeking out a bit at meeting Garrett Oliver. The famed brewmaster of the Brooklyn Brewery actually introduced me to real beer, via a tasting he hosted at the American Museum of Natural History (of all places) years and years ago. His words always stuck with me and led me down the road towards brewing my own beer, and I tried to express that to him when I got to shake his hand and talk with him for a minute at this event.
The Brooklyn Brewery has released a new IPA every year for the New York Comic Con and their launch parties are always a blast. That year’s Red IPA might still be my favorite of all of their Defenders.
